Q: Why Hot Chocolates?
A: We are a full time, family run business that has been established since 2005. With nine years in the wedding industry Hot Chocolates has evolved into a recognised name.
In 2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016 we were proud to be shortlisted as regional finalists by the 'Wedding Industry Awards'. An award that recognises excellence in the wedding industry.
We are privileged to have a dedicated team consisting of ex-serving military personnel who are Silver Service & VIP trained to work alongside Hot Chocolates. All bring a warm, friendly & professional approach that gives you piece of mind for your event. We pride ourselves in understanding our customers and the industry from start to finish.

Q: What type of chocolate do you use?
A: The chocolate that we use in all our fountains is the finest "JM Posner" Luxury Belgian Chocolate. JM Posner are the UK market leaders in manufacturing luxury fountain chocolate and chocolate fountain machines. Their chocolate does not require vegetable oil or any other additives to run smoother.
Q: Is the chocolate free from
Nut Trace & Gluten Free?
A: We cannot guarantee that the chocolate or foodstuffs are free from nut trace, we will provide signs to state this. However, the chocolate that we use IS gluten free and suitable for vegetarians. If you have an allergy concern, we can provide ingredient details.
Q: Can I have dips that are not on
your dipping menu?
A: Of Course. If you have a dip in mind that you would like to try, we will do our utmost to provide it. However, we do ask that only foods provided by 'Hot Chocolates' are used in the fountain.
Q: What is the longest period we
can hire a fountain for?
A: Our hire period is up to 4 hours. This is due to Health and Safety legislation stating the maximum length of time a cold food buffet can be left out, above 8 degrees, is 4 hours. The setup and dismantling of the fountain does not affect your 4 hour time slot.
Q: Do I need to provide anything or do anything?
A: We will take the headache out of letting you worry about what time we will arrive on the day, if we know where the venue is and if any preparation is needed. We will liaise directly with your venue point of contact and also yourselves just prior to your function to have every angle covered for creating the "WOW" factor for you and your guests. The only thing we require is that we are near to a plug socket and have a clear space of roughly 2m squared for the set up of our table.
Q: Will there be anyone present
during the hire period?
A: Yes. We will always ensure that at least one member of our Hot Chocolates is present at all times to assist your guests, replenish the food and make sure the fountain runs smoothly. Most venues will not allow a fountain to be left unattended due to liability concerns. Please check with your venue before you book that they will allow a chocolate fountain.
Q: What if my guest numbers and times change before the function date?
A: Not a problem - if your numbers increase or decrease then we can amend the price accordingly at any time. We always contact you before the function to discuss last minute details.
Q: If I wanted a chocolate fountain
at my wedding when would it be provided?
A: Of course this is all down to personal preference; you may wish to utilise the fountain to engage your guests while photographs are taken. Alternatively, the fountain would make an excellent dessert or a modern twist to the traditional wedding cake. The choice is yours.
Q: Our function is in a Marquee - is this a problem?
A: We have providied many fountains in Marquees. All that we ask is that there is the correct power supply provided to the fountains and that the fountain is not open to the elements. The slightest breeze will affect the flow of the chocolate and will have to be stopped.
Q: Can you run a fountain outside?
A: Unfortunately not. Wind will affect the flow of the chocolate and it can also attract flying insects...even with a wind guard.
Q: What is your Food Hygiene Rating with the Food Standards Agency & your local authorities?
A: We are proud to carry a five star rating for our food hygiene. All food businesses, by law, have to register with their local authorities.
Q: Can I run a check on your business?
A: Absolutley! We strongly urge all our customers to check out their chosen vendor. All food business must register themselves with their local authorities. This is a legal rquirement. To check our business you can call Gosport Borough Council Environmental Health on 02392 545505
Q: Do you carry liability insurance & a "food hygiene" certificate?
A: We carry a £5 million liability insurance, our equipment is regularly PAT tested and we carry food hygiene certificates. With over 15 years in the catering & environmental health business, this is an essential requirement for all catering services. We are registered with the local authorities, work with environmental health and are fully conversant with ever changing food hygiene legislation.
Q: How do I book?
A: Simply give us a call or an email and we can either send or email you our booking forms. Return them within seven days with a £50 deposit and this will secure your booking date. The remaining balance is not due until 14 days prior to your function.
